Unfortunately, the blog has been neglected for the last two months.
Why? Well, as the title implies; life gets in the way. Who would have thought keeping a house was this time consuming? Haha, no, but seriously. Gone are the days I would just go home at night and make mood boards of future rooms in my house and browse Pinterest and Instagram for inspiration.
Josh and I have actually never lived out of home before now! Shock, horror, I know. Almost 8 years, and we still lived at home! In hindsight, even though it was challenging at times (my god, do I appreciate having our own space now), it really was a blessing. If we had of rented, there is no way we would have been able to save the amount we did, or built the home we have. So I am forever grateful to our parents for putting up with us for as long as they did and providing us with the opportunity to save our butts off and build a home we have both dreamt of!
A glimpse of what has been happening via the camera roll.
Our living room. This is still one of my favourite rooms in our house. I love the pops of colour and that it feels so homey as soon as you walk down the hallway.
Our floors are Spotted Gum Timber and the walls are painted in Solver Floral White. The gorgeous artwork is by Julia Robertson and is from United Interiors.
Coffee Table Styling. These are actually the side tables from Kmart for a whopping $35. I bought them as a temporary piece until I found something I loved. But, you know what, I love these and I think they will stay.
I love this corner in our living room. Unfortunately, the gorgeous Icelandic Sheepskin has had to be put away because our puppy thinks it’s a toy!
White Kitchen Addicts / UNITE! To the left is where our scullery will go. Josh used to be a cabinet maker so will be fitting this out when he gets some time… So, likely 2030! Haha.
Coffee Corner ft Menu World Grinders (why are they so photogenic?)
Living / Dining
Getting into the Christmas spirit. This is the Kmart Vase with Target baubles placed inside!
Oh hey there, dining table! Finally, our dining table made it into our dining room. Josh made this himself, so the wait was justified. It’s Marri Wood on steel legs powdercoated matte black.
Landscaping of the front yard is now complete!
Thank you to each and every one of you who have followed our building journey or have connected with me via my Instagram over the last 18 months.
2016, really has been amazing and I couldn’t be more grateful.
Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and a safe and Happy New Year!
